    Thriving Community – Vermella Union

It takes a village…To become one. To design and build an incredibly convenient community. That is what Russo Development did in Union, New Jersey. MHS Architects contributed to this luxury rental community by designing the final phase flagship Building D. Situated back from the main road its strong presence, visible from the street, is modern and memorable. MHS Architects took the Kean University campus across the street into consideration so the design would fit comfortably with the corporate scale of the campus buildings.

MHS Architects designed Vermella Union – Building D at the beginning of the pandemic and Russo Development ensured that every detail resonated with renters that needed to work from home with boutique hotel comfort and conveniences. The 6-story transit-oriented structure situated across from the Union Train Station includes 309 residential units, 384 parking spaces, and just under 50,000 SF of indoor and outdoor amenity space.

The on-site retail — The Shoppes at Vermella, brings convenience to a whole new level. MHS Architects is proud to be involved in such a sought-after community which is thriving with 97% of the units leased. The demand for this boutique resort-style living is high so construction of Building D cannot happen soon enough. Construction begins late spring of 2021 with a completion date 18 months later.
